What's CS 170 About?
Here's the official course description from the OCC catalog:This is a beginning course in the Java programming language. Students will learn object-oriented programming, and will create applets which can be incorporated into HTML documents for the World Wide Web.
At OCC, CS 170 is one of the first courses in the Computer Science major for students who intend to transfer to a 4-year institution. CS 170 is the first class you'll normally take if you want to transfer to UCI as part of the SMART-ICS program. This class will introduce you to the principles of Computer Science, using the Java programming language; it is not simply a "Web programming class".
